If your bp was 125/80, you are good.
get another physical and file a complaint with the fmcsa medical group about this.Tundra670 Thanks this. -
Diastolic pressure above 180 is considered a crisis. You are saying your doctor measures 258.
No doctor in their right mind would issue any type of card with that reading. They would sent you straight to the emergency room. Look up the hypertension levels.
So either she was wrong, or you have serious health issues. Forget everything and get to a doctor kind of issues. It might be worth going to urgent care and get it measured again. If it really is that high you need to go to the hospital ASAP.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Got to ask the op, where did you mention the 258/123 or what ever it was because I went through this thread three times and only see 125/80 mentioned by you.

Just go to a clinic and pay the fee. $75 around here. Consult with the doc for BP meds.
It's what I did.
90 days for $10. X 3 refills. 1 year prescription.
I don't know the hassle yet for med cert. This just happened 4 months ago. I've got 6 months left before I have to do my first exam on pills. -
i go daily myself, as i have had 2 BP cuff testers myself, and they just do not last long.
so, i was told by the pharmacist, expect thier machine being about 10% off.
they have the machine checked out monthly, but that is no guarantee even the 10% is the same each time.
the only true BP tester, is the one that a doctor/nurse use, with a stethoscope. they have to hear that "knock" sound from your arm.Studebaker Hawk, sevenmph and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
Sugar, caffeine and all the other ingredients in soft drinks are some of the worst crap you can ingest.
Not to mention those stupid energy drinks. If you have to drink those things you might want to re-evaluate your life.joshuapowell61, snowwy and AModelCat Thank this. -
this time, you went, but did not tell us the readings.....leaving out information, only leads to MORE misinformed advice and answers.
she gave you a 3 MONTH CARD, but told you to stay out of a truck for ONE YEAR?
heck NO...she should have DENIED YOU that DOT card, if your BP was THAT bad, but at the very least, she was correct, that you need to get it under control..
(you can still drive with that 3 month card)
get rid of salts, too much caffeine, like coffee, sodas, maybe get some exercise.
but most importantly ...
GO SEE YOUR PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR...
he/she can monitor your situation either monthly, or quarterly, with BP meds.joshuapowell61 Thanks this. -
We know everything!Studebaker Hawk and buddyd157 Thank this.
