I can only imagine relying on family dollar employees to unload your roller in todays employment environment. Even years ago some of them were in their 70s. You have to remember that its not only you fingerprinting every item, there is a Family Dollar employee fingerprinting every item at the other end of the roller, 3 stores a day. Any one of those stores can turn into a nightmare and then you are running late and at the mercy of the manager at the next store. 2K a day is decent money but you ain’t going to be able to average a load a day. You’ll be way out of hours at a family dollar store so you’ll probably have to shut down there. Those store are in the sketchiest neighborhoods. Hard Pass.
Family Dollar/Dollar General $2,000 a day round trip

It's not 2 grand a day.
It's 2 grand to empty that trailer.
However many days it takes.
Otherwise drivers would milk it for every penny they could.FullMetalJacket, Rubber duck kw, RefMata and 9 others Thank this. -

I always fall back to this. If someone said something about any aspect of the trucking industry, they're probably lying. Or at best, misrepresenting. Round trip and a day are two different things.

I didnt even mention the maneuvering at some of these stores. The newer stores are generally laid out decently, but still plenty of blind side backing in an active parking lot in the ghetto. The older ones you’ll need to get to before they open and even then you’ll pull the hair out of your head. Good luck trying to get cars moved while your actively blocking up the cramped lot. You’ll see stuff like “truck will fit” or “guys from transmission shop will hold traffic”printed right on your BOLs. Backing across an active roadway is something you will have to get used to. It’s ridiculous.

I spoke with a broker by email as well.
Not going to put it all out there but you can find it by searching if anyone wants to.
Some accounts use conveyor rollers, other a rolltainer cart.

They told me it's 300-550 miles per day in total round trip and it's done in a day. Shorter miles usually have more stops and they pay flat rate.
Also said they can put me on one trip per day 6 days a week if I wanted.Rob2isking, nikmirbre, Chieftains and 1 other person Thank this. -
