Back in the mid ‘80’s there was a driver who was an old friend of my uncles from their cattle running days in the late 60’s who would come by the shop and layover a few days when he was passing thru. He was burned scarred on half his face and had a glass eye. He was cool has cool could be and easy going and kept a class act truck. One night when everyone was sitting around talking I stupidly asked him why he was burned. All the adults already knew why of course and my aunt was about to hit me in the face but He told me. He said in ‘57 he was 14 years old and was riding in an old International Emeryville pulling a cattle pot with his Dad when a drunk car driver came over the center line and sideswipped the truck causing them to roll over. Old two lane farm road without shoulders. The cab caught fire and the last thing he remembers was feeling his Dad lift and throw him out the window away from the truck. His Dad had one leg pinned under the truck and perished.

Yup. My uncle did it all the time. Fill out the paperwork, then take the wife and 2 kids for a ride around the country in the big truck. Everyone involved will/would've told you that it's not a comfortable arrangement by any means lol

I just reviewed that photo again; (The truck, not the young lady,)
And it looks like the tractor frame is level on the deck,
And the cab is completely off, hanging by ft. left cab mount?
I am not sure, so - is that what I am seeing?
    And how is that possible?
    Amazing.
I've done several years of CAD drawings, (Computer Aided Design,)
in a program called PRO-E, that has a review function where you can subject your design to a specified amount of stresses in various directions.
Blue colors are cool, the higher the load the more item turns red.
So.... Does this indicate they designed the cab mounts to support the entire weight
of a completely dressed out cab?
If so; Bravo, you just saved four lives.

Somebody's 16 year old daughter,,, besides, I highly doubt the wife looked like this. Maybe she came out of the sleeper with no clothes on causing the wreck,,,

In that case, tip your hat to the engineers at Freightliner. The body style of the sleeper looks like either a Classic XL or a Coronado.
