    What route do you guys use?
    Fargo ND to Rapid city SD

    I29 to I90
    Or
    I29 to I94 to state hwy 85 all the way south to 90

    The least problematic will be I-29 to I-90. Only about 500 miles that route. Probably your best route right now. Going to have more services and parking potential should things happen.

    If you think that the road are going to be good this time of year, then I would be doing the short route all day long. Much more scenic, all most a 100 miles shorter.

    Watch out for Rudolph red noses in those boonies. Had one miss my hood by a foot yesterday, while his buddy painted my white trailer mud flaps red.

    Personally I would head over on 11 in North Dakota to oakes then from there go down to 12 or 212 to cross over the Missouri then work my way from there. But I am also in that area every day and used to it. 29 to 90 would be easier but way less scenic. Also like said watch out for deer where ever you go, they are dumb once you get out in the boonies and don't have any manners
