It's rediculous how dumb some drivers are on the roads today. I run farm equipment on the roads a couple times a month and I've seen some stupid stuff.

We actully just had something simular happen up here where i live. Some moron sideswiped the tractor at one of the nearby farms when he was heading a mile up 25 here to get past the lake. Guy completely obliterated the tractor and then ran. Luckily from what i heard the farmer got out of it with just a fractured leg where the truck clipped it and 4 broken fingers but even a few inches more to the right and it would have been worse.
Feom what i understand, they followed the fuel trail and found the truck broke down up at the coffee cup in summit claiming he hit a deer, dispite the pretty green chunks that perfectly matched the tractor embeded into his hood.
3 guesses on where the dude was from. Heres a hint, it wasnt america. Also no insurance, no medical, revoked CDL and a few other things. Didnt make big waves on the news since no one died but a lot of the locals are absolutely pissed.....because this is the 19th time in the last 8 months. From what rob (my landlords dad and a long time local farmer) tells me, he has been here since he was born and the last 4 or 5 years they have had more truck on tractor accidents then the last 50....combined. used to be you would see 1 maybe two in a year and almost always because of something like extreme fog or the occasional drunk. Now its just these idiots trying to pass without even slowing down.BoxCarKidd, cke, Deere hunter and 5 others Thank this. -
Understandably so. I’d be pissed off too.
No farmers,no food!!
That “driver” hit a deer all right…

Here's some stats for ya'. NSC estimates some 15,000 incidents involving farm equipment on the roads PER YEAR, and many go unreported. From 2005 to 2010, over 7,000 crashes were reported in the 9 Midwestern states. Minnesota alone had 446 crashes. Relatively speaking, fatalities are low, about 50/year, but even that is inexcusable. And,,,it's not all trucks, in fact, most farm crashes are distracted 4 wheelers. Data is not available but most crashes are rear enders.

June 2, 1964....... My grandfather was killed when a car ran into the rear of his tractor. It was estimated the car was going about 75 mph on a country 2 lane road. My cousin, his granddaughter, was on the tractor with him. She was injured but not seriously. She was 11 years old.
He was 76.....
His birthday was just 2 days ago. Sep 4, 1887 - June 2, 1964
About 5 years ago, my wife's uncle was seriously injured when a drunk ran into the back of his tractor... completely destroyed the tractor. Broke the tractor in two pieces. He was seriously injured, but recovered.cke, mjd4277, Carpenter Scotty and 6 others Thank this. -
I believe that about rear renders. When I’m hauling manure, there is an astonishing amount of times when I’m turning in the farm driveway that I nearly got either rear ended, or T-boned when I start the turn. Forget the fact that tractor and tank have flashers, and turn signals on them, right like a vehicle. If it wouldn’t be for my mirror, I would’ve gotten taken out several times within the last 12 months. A guy delivering a load of hay to me got tboned last fall, turning in the drive. And it should be clarified, there is no hill, or curve within 2 miles of my drive, straight as an arrow.cke, 201, mjd4277 and 1 other person Thank this.
