Well crud, got my first stop off easy enough, but when I went to empty out, couldn’t open the door. The handle, the rod and the top cam were all moving together, but the bottom cam was not moving at all. A couple minutes with the pry bar and hammer had it open and then closed back up after the delivery but the lock bar will have to be repaired or replaced before the trailer can be released into the wild.
So my plan of leaving out at 02:30 and being in the Chicago burbs before 5 went out the window and I *get to* sleep in and need to be in Kankakee, IL at 08:00. Then whenever they’re done with me I can roll 30 miles or so down the road to my drop and hook. Which of course means my 14 will run out about 19:00 somewhere on I-80 unless I cut my day short to make parking easier. Have had decent luck with rolling out at 2-3 AM but my groove is very much going to be thrown off.

I had that happen once here with one of the old 37 or 3800 series trailers. Think i was in Indiana someplace and ops wanted me to pick up a certain empty for reload back to NE. Got to the next shipper and figured out why they wanted that trailer back when I went to open the left door lol long winters and rust do a number on em after several years

cdavis188, DonRobbie and bzinger Thank this.

Now that's something I wasn't expecting to see. An old Western Star that's branded like any other company truck. 20230817_190316.jpg

Those #### lock bars are annoying. I'm pulling a trailer with one now and it's a pita. Thankfully all trailers 73xx and up don't have them.

DonRobbie, dwells40 and bzinger Thank this.
