Grief, DFW was a zoo today. Delivered in Garland with only one detour due to an accident but then after that the day went to Hades. Had to call up north because I still didn’t have a load back. Apparently one had been assigned to me but not transmitted yet so once that was resolved then the fun began. Wound up detouring around various clusters of unfortunate events to get to my pickup in Hutchins.
finally got there and got some not terribly clear instructions from the shipping office then spent a bit of time finding my trailer. (It was in a door on the other side of the building from the spot I was told it was in). Went to back under it and, yeah…

It was a little low. I know what one of those monkeys that has to crank a music box in the cartoons must of felt like.
Finally got rolling and ran right into rush hour traffic which was tedious as hell. There’s a reason I usually run early morning to mid afternoon.
Saw some unfortunate guy in downtown Dallas delivered a bridge , so somebody definitely had it worse than me.
Load is going to Valley. My plan is to bust butt up to CB, drop the trailer and check it in to the shop (it’s overdue on service natch) then bobtail over to the hotel on PC. If I’m exceptionally lucky I might almost have time for to check in and get a shower in my room, but at this point I’ll just be happy if I make it there by 5.

Got my Dot physical taken care of today. While I was in the safety office Mike let me know that they'll pulling my truck within the next month it's 449374 miles on it. He told me I could start taking some of my stuff out of it. Sounded more like a termination notice. LOL

Makes me wonder if I’ll get a call sooner rather than later. Mine has 430k on the dash. Did he say what you’ll probably get?

M22 rockcrusher and bzinger Thank this.

No he didn't. But there's alot Freightliners and a few new kwhoppers settings around and that one black mack without a stack. I talked to another veteran driver last and said they were pulling em 450k also. My first truck was at 495000 when they retired it.

    bzinger and cdavis188 Thank this.

I might give Mike a call in the morning then. I’ll be stuck at the ACT yard until someone brings my next load around 9-10 am

I do have a few issues with my truck. APU refuses to start in cold weather after truck has been sitting, tractor airbags deflate after 15 minutes for no obvious reason, and there’s a pretty bad steering wheel shake around 45-50.
