Why would you wanna make as much as a company driver only as an lease/owner operator?… Is that $1000 a week on your settlement checks?

I believe some money is set aside in a maintenance account to begin with. I don’t know if i’m over or underestimating how much money i can realistically expect to take home. Right now as company driver i make $5,600-$6,000/month before taxes (this is on regional, i made more when i was OTR). If I can make the same amount on lease after expenses, set aside 25% for taxes, that’s about $4,200/month on the bottom end.
I believe quite a ways back i asked what LO’s/OO’s were making per month but i can’t remember at all who responded or what was said -

My opinion doesn’t mean much, I believe if someone wants a truck it’s better to save up a down payment and get one on their own. I wouldn’t want to make a payment and pay for maintenance on something that doesn’t have my name on the title.
A walk away lease is low risk, low reward which is why the failure rate is high. Less incentive to make things work when someone has no skin in the game. Versus knowing it’s up to you and your choices to make things work when you sign your name at the bank.MidWest_MacDaddy, hotrod1653, ElmerFudpucker and 6 others Thank this. -
this isn’t a walk away lease. They don’t lease to any Joe Schmo on the corner
