What I would suggest before you make your final decision is to run your company truck as a “dummy” company for a few weeks. Every load you haul calculate, mileage pay, fuel, truck payment, maintenance, fixed expenses etc. you can get these numbers from Mike. This will give you a true understanding of what you can realistically make each week.

Technically it’s not considered a “walk away lease” they can take you to court if you break the lease. In reality the will just take what’s in your maintenance account and send you on your way.

Everytime I drive across I70 in Indiana between Indianapolis and the Ohio line it actually makes me angry. Like WTF do we live in a 3rd world country or what? I need to see a chiropractor after that stretch of interstate.

The Governor probably has a family friend with a truck repair and alignment shop in that area, and he gets a kickback...errr, I mean campaign donation on every truck he fixes that got damaged on that stretch of road. I always joked that it would be smoother and easier to maintain if they just pulverize back down to gravel. Not to mention slowing down some of these idiots that are qualifying and drafting.

I kind of figured that with theirs there are some companies that have walked away, but there are many that are not at least with not without a penalty

I’d stick with my original idea…. Small business loan, buy the truck and take it wherever YOU want to take it. Doing L/P from your company is a mistake. You’re nothing but a glorified company driver, taking care of THEIR truck and making THEIR payment on that note.

At least if you did the business loan, you know one day it’ll be YOUR truck, and you can take it wherever YOU want to be with it.
    Just my .002¢
