Anyone run I40 in NC lately? I have a load going that direction and didn’t know if I should risk the two lane road section west of Asheville or run south and around that section. Looks to be still partially open but didn’t know if it’s worth still avoiding.
Thanks
stay safe

It’s open again, but depending on the time of day you will run through the gorge will determine if it’s worth the back up. I fellow FCC driver went through last week and said it was backed up in the middle of the day.

Going to be pulling the graveyard shift tonight. Had zero intentions of dealing with DFW traffic at 4 pm so I just stayed on site at the receiver. My 7 hours of sleeper is almost up so I will depart then and swing over to Duncanville for a trailer going to Valley

I've been off the road for over 15 years. I have had this same type of dream thousands of times, and can always tell what state I am in. Over time, it has been all 48 once again. It not only gets in your blood, for better or worse it stays there!Friend, Knucklehead, DonRobbie and 1 other person Thank this. -
Came out of the house yesterday and picked up at Custom Manufacturing in Brazil, IN. That was an interesting and spicy little drive. Kinda wild seeing all the Amish guys driving forklifts. Of course there’s next to no signal so GeoCrash was stuck on Drive with no way to change my status. Finally got the standalone app running and managed to get into Off about 20 minutes after I got in the door.
After coughing up $1600 for the electrician the coffers are a little dry so I really wanted to get this delivered in Valley yesterday but traffic was jammed up in Omaha and with the drive time I lost to the ELD malfunction I was going to be 5-15 minutes over depending how it played out so I shut down in CB. The upside is I was able to get the two well worn tires on the trailer changed out. I called breakdown when I picked it up and said they looked a bit overdue for replacement to me but the trailer had just been serviced in Fremont so they said it was surely fine. CB took one look at them and told me to drop it and replaced them.
APU died again last night which was unhelpful. I called CB from Valley to let them know the APU needed more tough love. They can’t plug in to the APUs so it had to go to Fremont. Fortunately I was only 15 minutes away. I grabbed the first overdue trailer I found and headed that way.
Hanging out in Fremont while the shop does round 2 with the little engine that couldn’t.
Plan is to pick up a preload in CB and take it to Baltimore.
Saw my old truck in the trade line, poor thing looks pretty sad.Friend, ncmickey, motocross25 and 4 others Thank this. -
That road into Custom gets a little interesting in the winter but the times I was there they had that big hill sanded pretty good. I always liked going in there. You can sleep there if you ever need to.
Friend, motocross25 and Knucklehead Thank this.
