Left the house this morning and snagged a CH load from Morristown TN heading up to Shelby IA.
Shipper was real fast and easy to work with. And only a 27k pound load. So no complaints!
Truck is due for an 8k service and swap out my van for a flat hopefully.Friend, Pigdude, hotrod1653 and 2 others Thank this. -
Delivered in Shelby today (day early per load info)
Dispatch called this morning to test the waters on if I'd be interested in a 5 stop pole load. I said sure. Go ahead and plan me on it. He offered for me to at least look at the weather and what nots just to confirm before I officially accepted.
I said pending an unforeseen blizzard, to go ahead with it. But I would call him during my 30 after I looked.
Next load. Pickup a valley load from Fremont going to;
Red Lake Falls MN for Thursday morning.
Then the rest of the stops are in;
Kennewick WA
Richland WA
Hermiston OR
Yakima WA
With the bulk of the deliveries for next Monday/Tuesday.
Last time I was in Yakima area I went down to Portland for shingles. But as they say. We shall seeFriend, hotrod1653, Lonesome and 5 others Thank this. -
Good load for crushing across Montana on 200. Too bad you have a 53’ or you could run 12 out of Lolo MT and ease down along the Lochsa River.
Friend, runningman0661 and Modlite11 Thank this. -
Got the truck in the shop yesterday around 5:30 or 6p. Meanwhile I grabbed my straps and some edge protectors to start securing my load of poles while they serviced the truck.
They finished up their work and it was time for a tire rotation on the drives and I requested that they looked at my steers as the driver side was starting to cup. Came out to my truck and it had new shoes all the way around. Tech said wasn't much point in rotating the tires I had on it, they were close enough (not tread depth, just chewed up blocks) to go ahead and replace.
So today the Silver Slug and I are actually running the advertised 68mph with the taller rubber. Only downside as most know, the new tires have me on top of the road. It'll be nice to get some wear on them.Friend, runningman0661, Rugerfan and 2 others Thank this. -
Got to lasko products in ft Worth and its on fire so I might have to take it somewhere else lol.
Update they had a fire in building 1 but building 2 is fine so I guess it'll get unloaded hereLast edited: Mar 4, 2026
