Carrier strikes again. APU randomly stopped blowing cold air. It'll turn on, condenser fan will spin, no cold air. That's my biggest gripe with this company. The one on 1919 never quite worked correctly. The one on my Peterbilt was an absolute nightmare to the point that I wanted to rip the #### thing off the truck. The one I had in 1465 decided it didn't want coolant anymore one morning and promptly dumped it all over a customers yard in Denver. It's beyond my comprehension why the company still uses these absolute piles of ####

My current freightshaker has the battery APU. Stays cool in the bunk well enough for sleeping. Thankfully truck idles with parking brakes released for Texas and such.

That's the only saving grace. FCC doesn't have any sort of idle shutdown or limit on their trucks

Most rural two lane state/US highways in Iowa are being bumped from 55 to 60 on July 1st.

Also that northbound MO scalehouse on 29 coming out of KCMO has been torn down and is now a dirt lot

At the 22 mile marker just south of where the scale house used to be there’s an in ground scale. You can see it on the road. Theres a pole with a solar panel on top of it right next to the road. Whenever you go over it it takes your picture, and if you’re over they’ll come out of the woodwork and nab you. It’s not even fair anymore. :(

And they’re using Flock and other license plate cameras to check log books. Funny how Flock was pushed “to catch bad guys and solve crimes” and now we’re basically living in a surveillance state 24/7. Almost like that’s the entire reason behind the big push for data centers.

Unless the driver is working for one of those certain ethnic owned companies that has learned how to hack their ELD system and alter drive time to cheat the system, why worry about it. For the rest of us, camera or not, the truck moves, the eld logs it, the DOT can check it against the GPS location logged in the magic box, so the location is verifiable.. If they want to watch my truck drive by, it doesn't bother me one bit.

Sort of missed the point. It’s not about cheating logs, it’s about how everyone was sold one thing and now it’s just used to monitor everyone’s movement. I don’t agree with the attitude of if you’re not doing anything wrong it’s no big deal. We should be able to move about freely in our own country. But instead we’re tracked in our own vehicles and they can piece together exactly where we went because it’s not just Flock. They can tie it all together with every license plate reader and know exactly when and where you went.

Short summary of my week. Left the house early Monday morning and headed down to Dallas. Rest of my week went like this:

    DFW-Topeka
    KCMO-Valley
    Crete-Loveland
    Denver-Cedar Falls, IA

Sitting at the Kwik Star here in Fort Dodge about to leave to head home. This has been a very productive week. I'll probably pull into town with ~7 hours left on my 70
