Again, missed the point. Law enforcement can’t access my phone data without a warrant, and even then the manufacturers don’t make it easy.

And you agree to technology in vehicles when you sign on the dotted line.

If they’re just for assisting in investigations then why the push for anyone caught tampering with them to be labeled a domestic terrorist? What do you think will happen with the auto shutdown in new cars of the government decides you drive too much or they don’t like where you drive? All the data centers aren’t for people using ChatGPT to make their cat look like a human. We will live in a state of constant surveillance. Kevin O’Leary even says in order to beat the Chinese this country needs to be more like China.

Because when it’s hot out driving slow saves a lot of wear and tear. Rear ends run cooler. Transmission runs cooler. Tires and wheel end assemblies run cooler.

Tracking goes well beyond law enforcement. Your phone tracks you for advertising, it listens to your conversations, even when you aren't using it. It's all stored and is hackable. Those "rewards" cards most of us use at truck stops and at the grocery store, those track every purchase so they can push the products people buy and eliminate the ones they don't. A bunch of the data centers being built aren't government, they're Amazon, META (a.k.a. Facebook). They're not spending billions on them just to keep an eye on you, they're being built so they can better tune the people's habits and use it for advertising or sell the data to the retail conglomeration so they can sell it. When I was at SPD, I delivered to a bunch of data center construction sites, a fair number were being financed by Amazon.
Besides, I will be dead and in Hell long before any of it makes much of a difference in the world I live in. If they had this level of surveillance in '01 then there would be 2 towers still standing in NY and 3000+ less dead people.

Put the tin foil hat on and quit worrying about it. I drive for a carrier that has the in and out cameras. I don’t break their rules and don’t have an issue. Yes this pisses me off after 44 years and over 4 million miles of safe driving. But it is the way it is nowadays.
