Earlier today I saw a Swift truck pulling an Amazon trailer

Lord help us all

 

I drove and tested on a manual in trucking school but I haven't driven one since because the 3 carriers I've driven for have had nothing but automatics

 

It is one of the benefits plus it actually has heated and cooled seats.

I've driven autos and manuals and I just prefer manuals it becomes part of me and I feel alienated without it.

 

Actually that's a huge step up for Amazon

 

It's like falling off a bike, once you learn, it becomes muscle memory. I drove Moore's mDrive Macks for 3 years, but when I started back with Shaffer, my road test was in a 10 speed and I hadn't gotten to the end of the road and I was shifting like I never left a manual.

Had a snackbar kind of day today.

As mentioned yesterday. Two stop pickup in San Saba.

Pulled into the quarry at 755 to get loaded. Left there by 845. Headed to town to get the rest.

Before they started loading me I got the "hey man I just got off the phone with the quarry and after we load you up, you're gonna need to head back. There was some special cuts they didn't load you with as they weren't made yet"

Back to the hole in the ground, office asks me to get on scale to see where we are at (was 63,300 before 2nd stop). 84880... so they take off two of their pallets and leave all of the seconds stops product. 80300... "hey what do YOU need taken off so that you are good?" 'I'm at a half tank.. 79500 will work'. They take off two stone landscaping treads off of one of the pallets. 79500..

Wasted 4 hrs of my life. Was gonna beat Cowtown traffic and not sit in Denton. San Saba made sure that i didn't make that goal. Sat in both.

 

Officially back on Matt's board. I know because I got a preplan sent the day before, not the day of lol. Ft Dodge to Crete load after I drop in Shell Rock

I'll drop in Menomonie tomorrow but I can't pick up my Tomah load until Monday so I'll have to ask for layover
