Because the free ones are usually crap right out of the box and they tend to give up the ghost at the most inconvenient possible times. The higher dollar stuff usually works better and lasts longer.

 

Every time I've ever been there it's always a drop and hook. I believe all Mars facilities we service are DNH. Victorville, Clayton, Lancaster, etc..

 

I like Bosch Icons. Unfortunately most of my vehicles have pinhooks, not J-hooks, so I'm relegated to standard metal frames

 

At the Love’s in Cameron, MO and an employee was on the intercom telling some driver to move his truck from the fuel island.

Edit: a second employee got on the intercom and told him to move his #### out of the way

 

Good to have ice cold AC again the apu is colder than the truck ac freezing me out the truck ac struggles a bit but it was over 100° in Georgia today

 

Most of the new blades come with adapters.

 

It's amazing how much these trucks cost and yet the interiors have so much bottom of the barrel plastics in them. It's like sitting in an early 2000's Ford product.

 

When everyone decided that drivers needed to be on the road for weeks or months at a time they had to start cutting weight somewhere as the bunks started getting bigger and bigger. Add in that emission systems add another thousand pounds or so over a non emission truck.

 

What’s completely off the rails is this, they went from an assembly line run by humans to robotic manufacturing, they went from mechanical components to computers and software, they went to having a service writer and mechanic to what’s now referred to as “E-Service” where the service writer inputs the problem in an email to an AI chatbot then waits a day or 2 for a response to find out what to try next. All in the name of precision. Then, for a $206K price tag, you get a rolling pile of plastic that literally falls apart going down the road. My truck is in the shop via a tow for the last 7 days waiting on the Chatbot to come up with another fix in the hopes that will work. After 45 years of this, it doesn’t matter what make truck one drives, it’s all the same, then throw in the unknown on the highways, it makes for a complete an utter joke. Let’s not even throw in people washing their feet in the sink next to you when all you want to do is brush your teeth, or the California Carpet Express running wide open the minute they cross into Arizona from California on 40 hoping they don’t take the side of your truck or trailer with them as they pass. Rant over…….going for a swim.
