Isn't this kind of what IFTA already does? You pay a tax on every mile you drive per state with IFTA... they just collect it at the pump.

BigR, drvrtech77 and Silverdriver Thank this.

The same way you ask that question hundreds of drivers also.
When he was ask if he realizes the impact of his decision would have in his state and given some examples his general response was what he posted.
Note: I will try to find a full article on his interview and posted.

Well, it’s been a little over two years since my last truck issue. The first was a freightliner this one a kenworth. Both DEF issues, both had similar miles. It seems these trucks get around 400,000+ and they go to crap. Got towed 66 miles in the direction I had just driven. Tow bill? $2,220. I’m thinking of buying a tow truck… thankfully the parts are available and I should only be in the motel one night.

That’s a very good thing. I was down for a couple weeks waiting on parts. Luckily I was at home and not OTR and too far away to be put in a loaner truck.

    Hoping all goes well tomorrow.

    Ouch! ouch! ouch!
It wasn’t me and I don’t know who did it!

When the driver of this truck comes back he’s going to scream And probably be heard in China!!!
Considering the price of parts these days with many shortages and inflation…
New hood for a Kenworth maybe about $10,000… New bumper with frame $$$… New door mirror $$$… Service cost $$$ …

Maybe total cost of $25,000 or is that to much?

On Friday got a call from Mike, our director of recruiting says when you get to the yard park the truck and go see Glenn so he can show you videos of your new truck. What? Really?
Yeah, your almost at 500k and its time to turn that truck in.

Dang, I have never been at any one place long enough to get anything but a pink slip. I thought two months ago they were conspiring to get rid of me. Boy, was I wrong. I even had an app into Cargo Transporters, one of my old companies, to see if they would take me. Haven't heard back from them. Been weeks. I got my answer.

Got my 2023 Freightliner with 66 miles on the clock. Like a Virgin!, my favorite Madonna song. White, number 1746 complete with blindspot cameras, and all the safety shiznet I could want! Somehow, the safety stuff never got put on my old truck, a KW which was super reliable but comparatively speaking, bare bones.

I can raise my seat high enough to see over the dash and see all my instrument gauges and coupled with a short hood line, I have a great view of the road too and any deer I hit or any cliff I decide to drive off of. I credit Johnboy for the last one.

It's a real game changer and difference maker! The steering is light and easy. Turns on a dime and leave you a nickel change. I miss my table that was in the KW, but now there is so much more room. The fridge is bigger and nicer though the door swings open with a sharp curve, but my laptop bag will keep it shut. Dang thing nearly drives itself, too.
So my maiden voyage in the new vessel is complete a day ahead of schedule, 1300 plus miles, my reward, no reload until tomorrow. So putting the APU through its paces in this upper 90 heat in Benson NC at the Loves. Tomorrow Zebulon to Joliet IL. Happy Camper once again at FCC! Deuces!

I use a beveled rubber door stop for my fridge door. Works great.

It's always a gamble putting in an app while still employed. Sometimes you get this result, other times you get the opposite.
