Note to anyone who cares, never, if you can, ever bring your brand new $206K Volvo to Vanguard Truck Centers in Pooler Georgia. Especially for a lube oil and filter, plus minor warranty issues. Dropped the truck off a week ago today, and was not even looked at until yesterday. Needless to say, not done and won’t be until late Monday. So, I get to stay home until Tuesday. No need to drive back just to sit in a hotel.

    Meanwhile, through all our difficulties…….
    Happy Birthday America!!!!

The company I work for owns Nextran, we opened our Ocala location last year, dealerships are what they are I guess, but the shop manager in Ocala is a solid guy, he came down from lake city, I’ve worked with him for years and always had pretty good results. Of course if your experience sucks with them, don’t tell them I sent you :)

Nextran in Lake City? If I had a Swedish Dog break down in their driveway, I would get it towed elsewhere. 1st time I had work done there was on a Mack Pinnacle. It took them 2 weeks to replace an mDrive (that they had in stock) because the only wrench turner that had a CDL was on vacation and nobody else could test drive it to check whatever they check with the computer to verify it was indeed the transmission. The last time I went there was with SPD's Volvo. I had issues with the axle lock system (it had both diff lock and axle locks) and I needed a new windshield wiper motor. After they 'fixed' it, the axle lock never worked again and the 2nd time I tried to use the wipers, you could hear the motor run, but the wipers didn't move. Turns out that when they put the linkage on the new motor, they had it ####ed at an angle, so when they tightened the lock nut, it felt tight, but after I tested it at the dealer to see if it worked (which it did, the 1st time) it realigned itself, but then the nut wasn't tight, so it fell off. (The motor faces backwards so you have to go by feel, or use a mirror to see everything )When I went to turn the wipers on at the house to wash the dust off the windshield, nothing moved...I ended up fixing it myself and vowed to NEVER do business with them again.

Typical salesman pitch. To me, it starts with piss poor customer service. This isn’t the first time we’ve had issues with this dealership. I should have known that this wasn’t going to end well when I walked in to the service department and the young lady who was in charge of writing up work orders was eating a slice of cold pizza out of a Dominos box at 8:05am.

Left the house Monday, got up to Savannah and dropped the rental off. Tim was already there with the truck. He got to Savannah Sunday evening and got a hotel. He picked me up at the airport after I dropped the rental off. Threw my stuff in the truck and off we went. Got dispatched Monday night with a Denver load. Dropped that about 2am Wednesday morning. About 3:30 am Linehaul called with a load to Rialto. Hooked that and dropped it at 9pm Wednesday night. Spent the night in Rialto and got dispatched at 7am Thursday with a Marietta Georgia load. Dropped that about 3am this morning. That ended our short week this pay period. Still ended up with 4900 miles though. Time for bed. Say goodnight Johnboy.
