Feedback on the Rand McNally TND740

I don't like the Interface, been using Rand's since the TND500 and being old skool I don't adapt well, so my TND740 stays in the box. The only upside I see is on-air updates via wifi. I will run my 730 until it is obsolete.

 

The new screens take a little getting used to, but since android based it offers more than what the DOS driven models offer.

I love this GPS but I Hate the mount! It falls off at least once per day! I would wait until they upgrade the mount before buying one.

 

Call 877-446-4863 and let them know you need a replace 740 Slice. Be sure the 740 is registered online.

In the settings menu you can switch the interface to classic. That might be what you are looking for. A way to have the new toy with the settings you're used to.

 

I used it for a few weeks. Now its in the box at home and the 730 is back in the truck.

 

Reason why?

 

I disliked numerous aspects of it including the magnetic mount, the display is way to bright in night mode, and the layout and interface. The text was way too small. The clock was too small and would be covered by the turn directions most of the time. The whole thing seemed very half assed, like it was rushed to production.
