To the op,
Thanks for keeping your nose clean for the time you have been out of the pen. I do not want to know the details of what happened. Ignore the people saying crud. If you can travel out of state which I think you told us you could, I'd call Carolina Cargo, Western Express and ask them. They would know for sure. Also, it may be worth getting your CDL and seeking some sort of local job. After two years, you'll find most insurance companies will accept you. As a result, you can ask o/o's to hire you as a second seat driver. I wish you the best of luck.

Whoa, one of the more intense threads I've read here in a while. Great reading. Not your basic "can't back into a certain dock" topic, (not that there's anything wrong with the dock topics). This can be a crazy world, and I agree, crazy stuff can happen, and just because it hasn't happened to one of us, I'd never lose sight of the fact it could, especially driving a truck. Personally, having that not happened to me, I can't imagine how hard it must be for them, especially in this post-911, paranoid world we live in today. I'm not in a position to hire anyone, never liked that kind of life decision making, but the fact that they were upfront with us, shows they deserve chance. Now, if it was my loved one they killed, greatly depending on the circumstances, I'm not so sure I'd feel that way. Pretty tense situation.

Keep in mind that there are people with "clean" records that are NOT clean. They have NOT yet been caught for their crimes or misdeeds. Quite often, it is just a matter of time.

Chinatown Thanks this.

It just amazes me cause I will see questions about hair testing and people on here will assume that person is a dope fiend and should never ever drive a truck.
A guy guy comes here says he killed somebody. Got life with parole which he was fortunate to get and he is lauded as a great person who turned his life around. Scary.
Sorry. If I appear to be on a high horse. People deserve a 2nd chance 99% of the time. The 1% you don't is when you take a life on purpose. And yes I am going to assume the OP killed somebody on purpose just based off his initial post. I don't need him to explain himself to me. My opinion is based on what and how he presented itGenericUserName and lagbrosdetmi Thank this. -
So in your eyes .....NOT turning your life around is the way to go???? We know VERY little about the circumstances. What we do know is the human condition. And we also know that MOST people think our criminal justice system does a lousy job of rehabilitating ANYONE. So when a guy HAS done a crime; done his time, is CONTINUING to pay for his crime.....AND has turned his life around for about 15 yrs............YOU want to keep piling on and hold him down??? Talk down to him?? Good Lord what are we becoming...............jungledrums Thanks this. -
The Challenger and FatDaddy Thank this. -
