Yea an attorney here where I live said truckers cannot fight tickets anymore unless they have proof they are not guilty so I don't know but I would not doubt it to be true.

It's enforced? The 285 is a race track with trucks in all lanes ... well, when it's not gridlocked.

I got tagged for the same thing, bobtailing on I-10 in West Covina CA. CHP came blasting onto the highway had to move to 3rd of 4 lanes to keep from hitting him. He gets behind me,pulls me over and gives me the ticket

This was in 1978. Been going on for a looooong time.

Let me get this straight. He was behind two 60mph drag racers, then he bailed out, and jumped into the prohibited hammer lane on his own accord? What did the video evidence show, a rolling roadblock?

And he blames the system for his poor judgment.

I didn't say he was right. But we all do it. Patience runs thin sometimes.

i do it, zip out and in and pray

it is sad that our own brethren drive in such a way, not for a few hundred yards, but sometimes for miles on end

He really had a few options:
    1. Keep up with the rolling roadblock and stay frustrated.
    2. Go slower than the rolling roadblock and not see the rolling roadblock.
    3. Get off and take a few minute break to get away from the rolling roadblock. Literally, a 2 or 3 minute break will put that roadblock 2 or 3 miles in front of you.
    4. Or, jump out into the high dollar lane and take a gamble.

None are really satisfactory but you gotta pick one. Unfortunately, he chose the most expensive option, both in dollars and time (both sitting on the side of the road and the time in court).

I never really understood what is going through the minds of the contestants in the "drag race of champions" (that's what I call it), be they four wheelers or big rigs. Are they oblivious to the jam they are causing, or is it intentional, or they think one can pass the other with his 0.5 mph advantage? Regardless, we can only control the truck WE drive, we have to react and adjust accordingly to the situations around us. Know the risks and accept the consequences.

I didn't say it was enforced? I just said they have had that law for years and if you do get caught in it, you will have 1 of the 2 serious violations in 3 years that you need to take a 60 day unpaid vacation?LOL
