Look under a new Ram 3500. Drag link is as big as some Semi trucks have. Double the size of the older ones. When they build better and bigger parts into the newer trucks. That's where the larger ratings come from.
Just look at the brakes on a 2017 Ram, Ford or Eve Chevy. Compared to 20 years ago. Better for sure, and still I don't see where that 8000 lb truck is safe with 30,000 lbs behind it.
