I called them out on their bs a couple months ago for valid reasons concerning loads I was refusing because I could not do them safely. Since then, they have been extremely petty (sending me for drop and hooks that I wait at the shipper 24+ hours, not giving me detention, waiting weeks for breakdown pay that I sat 64hrs for, etc.) I put in my two week notice on Monday as the frustration has not gone away over these two months as things have gotten worse since I called them out. Here it is Thursday and I am on the same load (1200 miles with this being the third day this week that I’m sitting.) Is there anything I can do as far as filing a grievance or something of that nature? And if so, where would I begin? I have saved emails and screenshots of messages back and forth between dispatch and myself. I am fed up and can’t wait to leave this company but it’s taking everything in my entire being to not abandon this truck on the side of the road.

    not really a legal problem.

I would just park it and walk away.

I didn't play those kids games.

no, notice. they want to play games? do it with somebody else.

give notice to those kinds of companies and that's what you'll get. they want you to quit. I would.

Well they pretty much threatened me with fewer loads/miles which is exactly what’s happening. And if I just leave the truck, that’s a really bad look for me.

Only reason I gave them notice is because it looks better for me or I would’ve been long gone by now. Plus I’m in a different truck because my original was in the shop and I still have a lot of my belongings still in there

    Lonesome Thanks this.

trucking co. don't really care about giving notice. it's not like a regular job.

I've quit many and had no repercussions. just take truck back to terminal clean it out. take pics to prove condition and give keys to dispatch or whoever.

    union shop..??

    file a grievance.

    non-union shop?

suck it up, do the job, then walk away

gotta be careful who, what, when, where you "call out" your employer.

you can be black balled by them, once you do leave..

    good luck.

Already have a job setup so not worried about being black balled. I’m not the type to put up for bs. They need to be held accountable. They’re just mad that I’m talking back to massa

no one likes BS, or likes to take it either.

there are right ways and wrong ways to talk to those in charge.

there will still be repercussions in the future when you leave your new job, and another new employer starts making background checks.

frankly to me, you sound like a hot head, wanting to spew off at your employer, and then cry like a little girl when they "get even" with you.

what on God's earth, did you think would happen? that they give you the keys to the city..???

    good luck

Get me moving on a load or point me to the location you want your truck dropped off. Get it in email or text to CYA and photograph EVERY inch of the truck in case they try and pin damages on you.

I had SEVERAL conversations with those in charge, including the general manager before I called them. By several, I mean at least five. So after having these conversations, explaining why you’re frustrated, and nothing changes, I’m not supposed to get upset? Sounds to me like I did things the right yeah before finally getting sick of lied to over and over again. Frankly to me, you sound like somebody that assumes things about people before getting the whole story and fails to think outside of the box. You must really be the perfect employee that does whatever they are told and doesn’t care if they are being screwed over. I’m crying like a little girl? I came to this forum to seek advice from drivers that have more experience than me because, clearly, I’m fed up and out of options and want to see if there’s anything I can do to spite these people and be a pain in the ### to them as they have been to me. Maybe me calling out my employer would make them realize how (filter skirting) they have been towards an employee that has been with them for a year and half without saying a word before finally losing my cool. So before you insult people on a forum that is supposed to be positive and give others advice, maybe you should check yourself before spitting out some bs and look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if you’re being treated fairly at your job. Some of us aren’t scared of daddy and let people know that they’re being treated unfairly instead of hiding with their tail between their legs.
