After graduating 5-6 months ago, I have finally landed a job with Schneider with zero experience. You may be wondering "Why such a long time to get hired as a new driver", well, it's because I live in Florida...South Florida. I completed the Jet-Set Application for Schneider, they called in less than 24 hours to confirm my details and now I'm getting flown to Atlanta in about a week to get orientation.
Anything I should expect, besides low pay?
and
What should I do to prepare for my OTR experience and things to bring.
Finally got a Job with Schneider. What should I expect?

Travel light until you're in your own truck or your trainer will hate you. Once you're in your own truck, you need a pocket knife, a hammer and flashlight. If you want more tools than that, go to harbor freight and pick up one of their small tool kits. That has everything else you could possibly need, and it comes with its own case so you don't get everything everywhere. A decent multi tool will also have you covered for 99% of situations you find yourself in. A flyswatter is nice to have, and having your own coffee maker will save you tons of money in the long run.

I certainly hope your adventure with this crap show goes better than most other's have, including myself.
Personally....wouldn't recommend that turd show to anyone. -
A handful of zip ties and some extra glad hand seals fit in your glove box and are also pretty handy

Condoms......lots and lots of Condoms.
Good luck.

Expect negative comments from people wanting to pull you into negative conversations. You will see it in orientation. You will probably see it in the training truck. Do not engage. The end of the world starts much sooner for the negative.
Schneider is your start, not the end. You are there to learn. Not to make friends with that loudmouth idiot in orientation who disrupts the program. Not to win a popularity contest with your godlike trainer who knows everything about everything but is the most unhappy person in North America. Not to build brownie points with your dispatcher who forgets your existence every time he she it clocks out to go home.
Watch and learn. The people who fail quickly will say, “I don’t know why I always fail. The extremely fat and stinky person will say, “I don’t know why everyone holds their breath and scatter when I walk in. The godlike trainer will say, “I wonder why I have no friends.” Watch and learn, but do not engage. These are invitations to pity parties. No pity partying allowed.
As soon as you show up, Schneider will give you a contact person to help you if you have any questions or concerns. Use this contact if any of your situation changes. Not the trainer. Keep your business YOUR business.
