So I'm looking to sign a truck onto landstar. What would be better finance through the dealer? If so what's the length of loan terms? Typical ape? Say 120k truck how much would it cost me a month roughly low 700s credit score. Or should I just lease from lone mountain or something similar

Well are you a driver or what?

You have to add into the post some details.

A 700 score is really meaningless, these are commercial loans.

Commercial credit is streets aside from personal.

    You have to build it.

With an 800 credit score, my commercial rating was nil.

It’s all the same - you have to present a low risk and track record to advance.

Neither of which happens with a $120k zero down loan.

    3 year span.

First truck - paid cash. $12,500. Start small, low risk.

I did the first trailer loan on personal credit - with no equity on the unit, for 8%. $5k down on $30k trailer.

The second trailer on ‘business ‘ credit for 9% (first business loan). Zero down on $28k.

Second truck on 5% business credit - all but paid off in a year. 20 k down, 26k financed.

All with our local US Bank - done business with them for years.

Don't buy NO truck, one sales man told me if you paying over $100.000 dollars for a truck you better make sure you get loads that pays well cause your payments @ around $3000 + insurance a month will make you cry in your soup because all you will be doing is working for FREE just to pay for the truck and insurance . Repairs cost a lot too so take my 2 cents think about it .......
and if you cannot pay the will come and get that truck back (GPS baby) will find you anywhere
better sign on as a driver @ a company for the truck ownership experience

I've bought two trucks in the last year. First truck I paid with a personal signature loan. Second truck I got financed through the dealership. Both have me APR rates of about 10%. If you go the dealership route they will require 15% down usually and will finance for the shortest term possible since it will be your first truck purchase and have no experience.

Get a loan calculator app, figure it out. 3-5 years on a truck, used truck for 5 years is not good, most likely will need a motor before it's paid off,

Do you know that landstar will sign you on? They don't take everyone that applies.
