the rev had a very valid point about not wanting a terorist to get a hold of a fuel truck. they could just drive that into a mall or something and kill a lot of people.
If you are in a state where you can legally carry, have it out. if you are in some communist liberal state, then lock your unloaded gun up in a case. and hide it. You should be ok with it locked up and the ammo in a different location. If you have a carry liscense, other (shall issue) states will reconize your permit. the only ones that won't are all of the blue states in the north east.

" and the truck was base plated in some other state, it was like a little piece of that state rolling through the city ".:biggrin_2559: Where do they DREAM UP this stuff. Sure the US MARSHALS did not give the driver DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY as well

If your carrying a unloaded locked up gun and the ammo is in another compartment, like in the side storage, How could you possibly consider this protection.

Thats like cutting up a new baseball bat and giving it and a bottle of glue to the next batter up and telling him to swing away.

Most drivers would get shot with there own gun.

I believe it the right to bare arms and protect your self, but I also live in the real world filled with morons I would not trust with a paintball gun. Driver now days have no respect for anything why would you want to arm them.

    Get real.

You can be sure that the Prisons are full of people who NOW wish they NEVER CARRIED a firearm and before the SMART replies yes the GRAVEYARDS are full of those that WISH they HAD..

You well may have this backward. More people are shot with there own gun, I believe more people whom had there own gun and attemped to use it, end up in the graveyard, than in prison.

The problem is that the average untrained citizen is untrained or at very least undertrained, hesitate which will ultimately lead to there own demise.

The one causing the treat will not hesitate, you will be dead. If you own a gun and you think you can treaten your way out of a bad situation, you can not. Never pull a weapon as a threat, NEVER its a bet you do not want to lose.

    Training is everything.

Sorry not BACKWARDS , not stating STATS on who shot who or themselves .

It was sort of a rebuttal to future posters going on about those that might have lived had they a gun thats all no more no less.

don't pull out a gun if your ready to pull the trigger right now.
but you have to really know what your doing and not left the bad guy get a hold of it.

just don't be afraid to pull that trigger.

but if your kinda unsettled about carring one, then don't because you can easily be shot by your own gun.

Alot of police officers get shot and killed everyday with their own weapons also. Most police officers are poorly trained and hardly proficeint with their duty weapons. I use that as an example not to pick on law enforcement but most law enforcement are more proficient with firearms than 90% of the people on the road so if it can happen to them....

In my former job i used to be a firearms instructor, I used to teach CQB, machineguns, basic martial arts...ect..and have attended numerous schools and accademys for shooting. I wieghed the pros- and cons of carrying and decided not to. I can do more damage and know many dissarming techniques, but I still would weigh the risk before attempting anything of the sort.
My life isn't worth any freight, except one that has the potential to cause serious damage to society if in the wrong hands.
Plus would loose my job if caught with afirearm on the truck.
A good ol tire thumper is a nasty weapon to use especially in a high to low strike on the collar bone, weapon dropped and bad guy outa the fight. But to each their own. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents

i think a good understanding of martial arts and jiu jitsu is a good thing to know.

you are much more likely to get in a fist fight than a gun fight.
and just knowing that you could beat a guy up if you had to kinda helps make you more assertive and gives you more confidence.

you are no longer afraid to get into an argument with someone.
