Reefer is generally good all the time, and flatbed when the economy is booming.

Reefer plus... you don't have to snow-tarp a load in -40 deg and 50 mph winds!

Flatbed plus... the drool cups are free!

Van= Compete with every man and woman that can turn a wheel and huge companys with drivers driving for nothing. Pays nothing.

Reefer= Compete with with old men that cant flatbed anymore loads usually pay decent but with that comes higher trailer maintence and purchase cost and lack of wide spread freight volumes compared to flatbeds.

Flatbeds= Compete with the few men and very few women that can physically handle the job and are willing to work like hell. Very large freight volumes in alot areas across the country compared to the other two choices avarage pay on flats usually fall between the two but from my experience ends up higher when alls said and done due to the fact you can run from one decent area to another without being forced to go to the worst freight areas to get decent money going one way.

You must have been taking your reefer to the wrong places.
