I started driving for a small company about three months ago. They pay 25% of the load..... but they say I’m required to pay for 25% of the fuel costs. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Wow. Your getting screwed big time dude. Big time...

Find yourself another job quickly. Dont fall into the trap of working for any of these 1099 scam companies. As a company driver work only under a company that pays on a W-2. And NEVER pay any portion of the fuel bill on a company truck.

Wanna make money working for a 1099 comany?is actually very simple:keep all the fuel receipts, all truck repair bills you can get your hands on,tolls etc and than deduct that as a business expense at tax time.
The company cant stop you from doing that without getting in the hot seat with the irs.

Lepton1, Intothesunset and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
