Fleet Owner horror stories

My small company has had a rash lately of abandonments , failed drug tests , a dui bobtailing , a driver that disappeared on home time for a week partying with strippers and doing coke .

 

That last guy is my kind of people.

 

Actually Dave I knew him and he was a pretty good guy ....ill give him credit tho: when he found out everybody was looking for him he called the company and told em the truth and that he wouldn't be passing a drug test ..told em come get the truck and sorry.

 

Wouldn't surprise me to hear a lot more stories like this.
I'm sitting at a Love's at the moment cause the highway is so backed up for a crash, the nav has me routed nar 100 miles down to the next interstate lol.

Some goony goo hoo mofo has splattered himself and who knows who else on the highway. Probably a years experience. New Vulva.

While the old hands have to worry about being deemed unsafe for a marker light, an air line, tandem not set right, PC for 5 minutes on your log.

It wears on people. Nobody gives a ####. Everyone just wants to cover their ### and justify their jobs.

 

I hear ya ! 1 of those abandonments was by a woman that lives in omaha under a load to omaha ! ...she abandoned the truck in Texas and the truck beat her back to omaha .

 

Wow. Any industry other than trucking that would probably be unusual.

What happened to the load?

 

They flew a driver down for the truck and load in ft worth
..she showed up a couple days after the truck got back to omaha looking for her paycheck lol.

 

Of course.

 

yeah I was offered to go do a recovery couple months back when my truck was being worked on. Had an electrical gremlin they were hunting down. They were going to fly me to recover the truck. Pick up a load and drive it back to the yard in DFW. Pay me 150 a day plus the mileage of the load coming back. I said yes. But my truck got fixed before I had the chance to do it. We've got 1 or 2 drivers that is all they do.

 

Oh and to get her car lol .
