Just at least be gentle with the transmission.

I've driven trucks that other drivers destroyed the transmission...

As big and heavy duty as trucks are it is very easy to destroy a transmission by being rough.

I'm not saying you're destroying the transmission, I'm just saying that as you are learning be gentle because it's easy to destroy.

Transmission repair and replacement is one of the most common things that are prematurely destroyed by drivers. It's why a lot of the newer fleets have gone to automatics.

Keep practicing and get your timing down and you will be fine.

If its an Eaton Road Ranger theoretically you should only use the clutch just before taking off while stationary at the yard or at traffic lights. However double clutching is still encouraged by most Eaton engineers, cause if you miss a gear your bound to do more damage without the clutch.

If it’s a maxidine engine with the Eaton 10 then don’t over rev. Shift at around 1400. Let the rpm drop down to under 900 before floating into the next higher gear.
    Slow and easy.
If your pulling a tanker then float the gears with the surge.

Floating can be based on of many things rpm. You'll feel some days which when you get better will be some launches that your able to float at a high rpm or at a lower. The CPU trans adjust to how you accelerate out of your launch gear so pedal placement kind of perpetuates you floating through the gears in a certain rpm range. Hope I helped.
