If you want something done. Yeah, you can tweet the President, or you can begin to advocate for change by getting involved.

Call your Representative and Senator. REPEATEDLY.....AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN....... Get to be a pain in their rear. They are YOUR EMPLOYEE.
    They work for US.
Let them know how bad it is our here. Give them FACTS. Not emotion.

And, I don't want a namby pamby wimp for President. We tried that for 16 years with Carter and them again with Obama. It doesn't work.

I want an in your face egotist. They get things done. Trump didn't get to be as wealthy as he is, by being wimpy like Obama. That was one President who didn't accomplish anything before getting to office. Trump at least has a solid record behind him of success.

Success yes. But also in order to have that nice breakfast you have to crack a few and fail while trying to cook.

Eastern Airlines would be one example. Trump bought that thing and goldplated it. I like to think it fell out of the sky under the weight. It's a shame because as a kid I recall standing in the upper open deck at Friendship Airport listening to and watching the 727's screech into the sky. (KBWI before the reconstruction and updating...)

And security was very easy in those days, maybe two cops in the whole place. You did not need anymore than that.

You are so wrong.Truckers has been fighting this mandate the day it was announced. Also its not just about elogs but all of truckers rights are stripped away.Is that what you want?

May I suggest taking a moment? There are many different kinds of people involved in trucking and the intrusion of ELD has created powerful feelings on different sides.

I personally would rather not have a ELD. But ultimately it's still HOS. The problem I have is that it's yet another computer to cuddle, nurse and take care of like a kid in that truck filled with other computers requiring the same. It's silly. No wonder they are too #### expensive. Give me a 359 pete or something for a love of god. Let's make life simple and better again.

Its just sad that truckers can't unite as one then maybe things would go there way and be a better industry for all. Many of the laws have zero common since and its all about money and power.Safety has absolutely nothing to do with it.I have used elogs and paper and never received a log book violation.Every time I read of yet anther ball and chain law it makes my blood boil. When will the industry wake up and say enough is enough.

The good ol days are long gone. I wasn't a year into this thing when we had the big shutdowns and convoys across the country in the early 90s. Know what that got us?
    Squat.
Then there was the great shutdown of 2000 (sometime around that time) I got home, shut MY truck down. Know what it got us?
    Thats right.
    Squat.
New times are here. You can adapt and do your best to overcome and continue on, you can whine and cry and try to kick and scream, but you'll still have to carry on.
And yes, the big government is gonna come up with something else to screw you.
Its called Fabian Socialism. They have learned to do things in little chunks. They believe regulation is good for the economy.
Most everyone is compliant now. Repealing the ELD mandate at this point will harm business. All those companies that have jumped into ELDs. What about all those folks and their employees?
And the next thing will probably be driver facing cameras or some other such nonsense. Because ELDs are not gonna end truck crashes.
The goal is autonomous trucks. The driver takes over when the truck reaches the shipper or receiver.
The days of the "TRUCKER" are coming to an end. Just like there are no more mechanics. Now you have "technicians".
People don't understand freedom nor do they want to be free anymore. And the GOVT. #### sure doesn't want you to be free.
    MEH.

I wouldn't use the term "you guys" in your statement.

Because your not certain what I did, you can't put that blanket statement on me. However, what I said was a blanket statement because it was a direct result of some who didn't realize that elogs was never about what they said it was about.

I can and will group anyone who sits there and complains about the mandate. Yes @pattyj I do realize that drivers have been fighting it since day one, but certainly not in the capacity as they were side this last year or two. It was primarily ooida that was trying to fight it and when they failed there want much else done until this past spring when social media went ballistic with advocate groups popping up all over.
