“DO NOT Sell, Purchase, or Lease a USDOT Number or Operating Authority (MC Number) online or elsewhere from an unknown person or outside of a legitimate corporate transaction.“
When I sell it will be a legitimate corporate transaction..Puppage and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Imo if your numbers arent properly transfered. Then the owner of said numbers should be liable for 100% of the chaos caused by whoever they sold the numbers to. 100% of violarions applied to their license in addition to the guy who did the violation. If the guy destroys a bridge. He should have 100% liability along with whoever also destroyed the bridge. If the guy kills someone while drunk, he should be charged with accessory for murder ect ect.
That would stop a lot of that crap fast. Also make it illegal to have or get a DOT number unless you are a legal U.S citizen or green card holder, have a business or branch of business in the physical U.S with people in the U.S who can be held accountable with a yearly random audit for the first 5 years then a random one afterwards to ensure compliance. and if found to be hireing non citizens or drivers with a suspended/no license and/or major violations that would otherwise invalidate their being a driver. There should $50,000,000 fine per each individual found to be employed illegally.
Bet you that would kill that vast majority of these shady companys overnight and take a good percent of these no english murderwagons off the road. Of course some will find loopholes. They always do. But it would still remove over 95% of them off the roads overnight.hotrod1653 Thanks this. -
Now the FMCSA needs to go after companies who illegally edit drive time in ELD's to falsify logs.
hotrod1653, Long FLD, hope not dumb twucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Cracks me up when people act like they have to lock themselves inside and not leave their cab for 10 hours if they have to run a legal log.Arctic_fox and Sons Hero Thank this.

so why do I see all these people wanting to buy somebodies numbers on here??
or visa versa
hope not dumb twucker and Concorde Thank this. -
I understand that you do not have to stay in the cab, however, I go buggy if I have to sit and goof around for too long. I know some fellas that it works for, and I think that’s great, but there are types of freight to haul that do not require Such a hard line time log, and that’s what I prefer to hall. It’s just that mandating a 10 hour break, does not make sense for every application.Tall Mike Thanks this.

And that’s why there are exemptions. If you are out west you can log about 1000 miles legally with livestock. I ran ELD with a pneumatic and with our ag exempt backhauls it was pretty easy to have 1000 mile days.
A couple weeks ago I did 2 rounds of propane from Conway KS to the Derry NH area, roughly 1700 miles one way, under an emergency exemption. I was sleeping 4-5 hours per night, I’d run until I was tired. This week I have to run a legal log hauling ethanol outside my shorthaul area. I sleep 5-6 hours like I do at home, I easily get an hour of exercise outside in the morning before I can roll and another hour at night before I clean up for bed. Guess I don’t get stir crazy from sitting around because I don’t sit around.drvrtech77, wore out, Cdemars316 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I understand that there are exemptions, I use them regularly myself, however, there’s a lot of fellows that refuse to use them. Lazy -itis, all under the guise of “being safe.” Those are the guys I find insufferableTall Mike Thanks this.
