Any other food grade haulers noticed it's been really really slow the last few weeks ? Especially in the south east ? I've never had so many layovers in my trucking career until the last few weeks...I had one stretch where I laid over 6 out of 8 days.

Well, I was running to stores for ALDI in thee southeast. It was so insanely slow I quit.
tscottme and BlueThunderr Thank this. -
Things have slowed down at IRT, not to the point where I am dealing with layover, but certainly not as busy as it was a couple months ago.
I was told it was due to kids being out of school and therefore not as much juice and milk being consumed. Not sure what their folks are giving them at home.tscottme and BlueThunderr Thank this. -
There was a big farm explosion in the 2nd biggest dairy producing county in Texas around a month ago that killed about 18,000 head of dairy cattle. That would possibly explain things if you're a milk hauler.

I also should note that those 6 layovers out of 8 days were just before my hometime...I was supposed to return from my hometime last Friday but they didn't have a load until yesterday (Wed) so in all actuality 11 out of the last 13 days there have not been any loads for me.
Redtwin and Suspect Zero Thank this. -
