Where should I start. Well I delivered here for a "round trip" back to Romulus, MI. I pulled to the front gate at 4 am, and gave the guard my info. Load was due at 6 am, but of course he said I would have to wait til 8 am, for some reason. I turned around and waited out on the road until 8. This time I entered and was given a map to where my dock was located. I played hell in that cluttered place but, finally found the docks.

I ran into the S&R and fought through the line of drivers waiting, to be told I am at the wrong docks, even though the papers and map the guard gave me said them docks. After I searched for the other docks, I got in and bumped the docks at about 9:30 am. I was about over my hours and very tired, but of course you are not allowed to enter your truck while being loaded. After watching the hi-lo driver load/unload maybe half a truck an hour. I get unloaded at 2 pm and then find out it was not a reload because the other driver who was not ahead of me took the last racks. I was furious, so i got my papers signed and got the hell outta there and took my 10

I was just wondering if any other drivers have had this problem with Fords? I hope I never go there again.

My only experience with Ford was at the KC plant back in late '01 but it was pretty painless. Picked up part of the load in southern Kentucky and the other in Columbus, IN on a Friday afternoon and was told the load had to be there early Sat. morning and that it would be a live unload and we were told to call a special hotline every few hours to update them on our progress with the load.
Rolled into the plant early Sat. morning, got a place in line and hit the bed. Woke up around 6:30, check in with the receiver shack and get told to drop the trailer in the drop lot. Dropped the trailer, picked up our next load at a Werner drop lot somewhere in KC and then sat around until Monday morning because the load was three stops on different ends of KC.

I did automotive for 3 years. The assembly plants are a real pain unless you have a dedicated run where you drop & hook.
