I went back to work into my previous office job thinking I was just going to semi-retire here but ...... I don't know it's tough, call me crazy I miss it out on the road
I was a commercial Painting and Wallcovering estimator before trucking.

meanwhile in LTLland a driver with 18 months with the company was disappointed with the annual raise package given. BUT will see a .064 cent and about $2.50 hr raise in 6 months.....modest to say the least for the bump at my current rate but still brighter horizons on the way.
Edit to clarify.. pay rate for 12-24 mo driver increased by $1.12 and .007 cpm. to .61 cpm and $24.80hr
6 months til I hit top rate which is .674 and $27.30 hr.Last edited: Apr 29, 2018

I just saw a SNI ad today offering $5000 sign on bonus for experience driver to run OTR. I wonder if that applies to someone like me that worked for them previously .. who knows ?? I might ask them but not sure if I want to drive with them again. If I do drive for them at least I know what to expect. I'm also looking at another company that hauls Pharmaceuticals and food products on dedicated account. 95% drop and hook very small percentage of live loads supposedly. But... one of their main client's is right next to my house ..2 weeks out for 2 days off or 1 day off every week out (the norm) they say because of where I live I could be home every week if wanted..??SingingWolf, 91B20H8 and 48Packard Thank this. -

yeah, sometimes its better to take the easy way out until the dust settles. That said. with about $5-6 down and a good bank, you could roll with a $65k truck for around $1500 a month. Just something to consider. Good luck 48.
SingingWolf, gentleroger and 48Packard Thank this. -
