So I've got an opportunity but I'd love some advice from the community.
Tried my hand looking for work posting on Craigslist (I know, I know) and got approached by a gentleman from out of Chicago on behalf of "Izzy Trucking Inc." out of the same city.
The job is gonna be as a 1099 employee, company driver. I get the sense 1099's are given a bad rap around here so what should I know as a new driver?
I'm only at the pre-employment phase, haven't even gone for the drug test yet, so I'm not committed to anything.

i think you can do better....no in fact....YOU CAN DO BETTER.meechyaboy and Coffey Thank this. -
Well considering my past threads on issues with the DAC report, I'm coming up a bit short in finding work. I've got applications in with local gigs like flatbedding for Lowes or running trucks for PODS, but I have to wait to hear back from them.
I'm not committed to this 1099 job so what is it that I can do better as the only other option I'm coming up with right now is Western Express, and I'm still pretty spooked by that year long contract they want me to sign to run for them.
Edit: I'm also searching the forum for mentions of 1099 and reading past threads, just FYI. Thanks for mentioning that though.Coffey Thanks this. -
