Before I call a repair truck I am hoping someone can tell me what this is? I assume it's a piece of a broken spring but it's much thicker than the spring that isn't broken in the picture. Anyone know what it is?

Yeah, broken big spring, from the other side of the shoe. You can see the coil of it here. Nice catch, most wouldn't have

Thanks guys. Not sure if the rollers are gone but I think I'm lucky in that it didn't seem to damage the brake pad itself.
