    How do a fifth wheel fail? I heard about it, never witnessed it. Only time I had a fifth wheel not lock is when there's was too much frozen grease on it in the winter time and it wouldn't close. Beside obviously visual inspection of crack/bent/missing "locking bar" how would someone know it's bad
