Completely understand the "Ace LLC" operating as an agency for "Acme Brokerage". But when you throw "internship" and control into the mix?
Who "owns" any customer you get? Who controls that customer?

    GoneButNotForgotten and PPDCT Thank this.

Hey guys, thanks for your help. I was able to find the answer to my question. I'm sure I'll be back at some point down the road. Meanwhile, happy selling.

I turned it down due to the agreement I was being offered. It seemed too financially risky and there didn't seem to be a defined path regarding training. I would have gotten a commission split for clients that I brought on. I would still like to find a brokerage that might be willing to train someone new to the industry but they are hard to come by.

There was a non-compete and a lot of "if anything happens you are paying for it including my legal expenses" in the contract I turned down. Seemed too risky as someone who does not know enough about the business to understand what is in a typical contract. I believe the company previously operated as a carrier and recently decided to get into brokering. They didn't seem particularly suspect, just didn't like the terms of the contract. They had several roles advertised as internships which makes me think they might be operating on the "free work" business model.

I've given people starting chances. My "training" is throwing you in the pool and you sink or learn to swim. LOL
