Freightliner Columbia Mercedes pros and cons

    Actually sense you mentioned its 13 speed they perform pretty damnn good with 13speed.i plan on swapping mine with 13speed also.how many miles you got her??

    Mine is an 06 with 900k on the clock , I got some history on it as a buddy of mine has owned it the last 5 years , and before that xpo owned it and it was based in Ontario can.
    Has 3.70 rears too .

    I have actually seen the truck before but until yesterday had never been inside of it and although it isn't torn up or smoked up its definitely going to the detail shop when the mechanical work is done.
    Let's just say my buddy's highest priority wasn't a clean truck lol

    From my personal experience with those motors, I wouldn't trust an MBE motor to serve as a bloody boat anchor.

    Junk from the word go. Gimme a Detroit any day.

    I had the opportunity to drive one this fall. 450 hp 10 speed. The max I hauled was 87k with it. It would take over a mile and a half to get to 55 mph on flat ground. Then I drove a Sterling with a 330 hp ISM. It felt like it had more power than the MB engine in the Freightliner. That is my take on it.

    I drove 3 different trucks with the Mercedes mbe and own one of then never had any problems with getting parts they alway in Stock pretty good power great on fuel I had to replace head gaskets on mind but I know people who has then and never had any issues.

    I agree. These engines are junk. Anyone out there that says otherwise are either lying or VERY lucky.
