We've got a 2001 sterling 9500 day cab with a remote mount condenser in the shop, that I'm needing the freon charge amount. I pulled out 4.450lbs. I'm pretty sure that's way too much, there is no info label in the normal places that you would see. I put in 3lbs (which I found on line, but was for a 2018 I think), but it's freezing up. it takes about a 1/2 hr but it eventually makes it back to the compressor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

did you change the dryer?

Put some guages to it. I think 280-300 on the high side, and 140-160 on the low side are the ranges you want. If all good, then I think moisture could be a problem

Evidently the customer is going to have the place that installed the remote mount condenser figure it out. I guess they were having issues before and had ANOTHER shop look at it and they bypassed the low pressure switch at the accumulator due to the fact that there is one down at the remote mount con.
So, out of our hands now. Thanks for all the replies!
