Considering Frey Miller - any opinions?
Would prefer to get opinions on Frey Miller vs comments about the industry and look at carrier X.

I am a tough fit as I have 2 dogs and 6 months solo experience.

At this point I'm either sticking with Western Express a bit longer or jump to Frey Miller. They are promising better $$ and miles.

    Boring details.....
Why jump now? Simply put I am sitting too much. We do a lot of drop and hook. At least once a week I find a trailer with issues.

Mudflaps, door seals and small holes i fix myself and keep going.

    Tires send in DVIR.

Expired inspection or more serious gets a DVIR and refuse to move unless it is to a repair yard. This is getting me less freight. DM says I can get it fixed at next trip near a terminal. That can be weeks. DOT would say sign here please.

Would think the clear record, no SAP would help but the options seem to be the 2nd chance mega carriers.

Suggestions to leave one or both dogs with family are not helpful or possible.

Does Freymiller allow 2 dogs? I'm asking because I don't know. If so, then jump to Freymiller.

Yes, 2 dogs already verified with Frey Miller. They have me scheduled to start 6/30.

$300 Orientation pay after 1st load delivers

    Paid transportation to orientation
    Paid Ramada hotel during orientation

They promise own truck despite the holiday

I love reefer trucking. After 12 mos. experience there's so many good reefer outfits to choose from.
I did OTR reefer for 18 years and no complaints.

I'm hoping for great but will settle for better equipment and miles.

A month back had a trailer with expired inspection. Was 30 minutes to the terminal so I stop by.

Western Express solution... A sharpie. No inspection

I have zero idea of either company just some things to consider.

Which company has the best idle policy or has APU’s. probably a very important issue since you’re bringing pets. Can’t just leave the dogs sitting in a hot truck while you stand in line for hours at food warehouses.

Expired inspections etc aren’t uncommon, we’ve all dealt with it at one time or another. Don’t jump ship based on that.

Sitting waiting on loads is not uncommon in the current market..

Reefer will take a couple weeks getting used to. May be a little sleep deprived until you get used to the added noise.

Food warehouses burning up your clock..standing in line because 50 other trucks have the same appointment time…good luck!

Equipment wise, FM has decent looking trucks, WE looks like trash trucks, lol
