Well had a change of plans last night... dispatch called us about 9:00 last night and asked us up forget the Sabra load and head over to Boars head to cover a load going to Wilmington, NC for a 0400 appt.. So we get to Boars head and check in with shipping to get our trailer and start rolling......NOT! "we haven't loaded that load yet, we're running behind tonight". So we finally get loaded at 0145, and it's supposed to be there at 0400 hmmm. On these loads your supposed to alert the consignee ASAP if your going to be late, so I call the poor guy up and wake him up from a dead sleep... "sorry to wake you sir, this is the Abilene driver with your Bhead load were just now leaving the plant, our ETA is 0530." He says " that load is supposed to be here at 0400." me " I realize that sir but if the plant doesn't get us loaded until almost 0200, that's out of our hands." Needless to say he was none to pleased, but I'm not a miracle worker.
Anyway, we're here getting unloaded and waiting for dispatch to get in and send us a load. Be safe.

Dropping 6747 picking 5228. I'm guessing time 2 sell the trailer

I'm waiting on my 10hr break to be up at noon here in Eustis Fl so I can drive the 90 miles to Gainesville to load a Fredricksburg load.
-
My lovely corn load won't be received until tomorrow 5 am. Yay
But....got a preplan from dispatch to pick up tonite in Strasburg VA and deliver tomorrow night in ATL. Didn't CH Robinson let our dispatch know? So, may of may not have a load preplanned. I sent a qualcomm msg to dispatch over an hour ago asking, but haven't heard back. Will give them a call in a minute. Its looking like a decent week, even with all the bull on Monday. I will probably end up with 2900 miles. Woo hoo!

No it's not the brokers responsibility to keep dispatched informed..... its your responsibility. Communication is the key.
-
The broker TOLD me he called our dispatch and let them know so I figured they knew. Guess I should ASSUME dispatch doesn't know and double check everything. Just like they assume we don't know. BTW...it ONLY took them 2.5 hours to qualcomm me back just to say we are looking into it. Bo qualcommed me at 12: 15 am to let me know I lost the next load. So...why did it take from 3: 30 pm to midnight to figure that out? AND I called them at 6 pm and was told pick up the pp load this morning. I can communicate just fine. They are the ones that need to work on that. And yes, I know they have 50 or more drivers to deal with. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Used to sit at one of those desks

Well on a lighter note..... Guess what load we picked up this morning.... A purdue load from Strausburg, Va. to Atlanta for 11pm tonight.
There has been very little team freight headed West this week. Hopefully either we get a broker load headed West out of ATL. Or get a load back to Richmond out of ATL. and maybe when we get back up to Richmond they will have something with some miles on it to keep us running over the long holiday weekend. Be safe! -
Ha! You ended up with the load I was supposed to pick up! I DH down to Sabra to drop my mty, but just as I pulled in, Kimberly called and told me to drop at Perdue instead. BT to the yard, got my turn signal fixed and got my load for tomorrow. Picking up at Sabra and delivering in Kinzers PA at 8 am. Ugh! Reefer freight. But, if it keeps me rolling....
-
Before we got into Atlanta we were given our reload. We're reloading right around the corner at another Americold facility going back to wal mart in Gordonsville, Va. for tomorrow afternoon. Be safe!
