You’ll have some things to learn but I certainly would feel comfortable with your experience level after doing a drive test of course. Some people learn more in 3 yrs then others in 10 yrs so it varies person to person.

Wow so many choices ! Thanks Mr. Chinatown.

Definitely like the ones with veterans program.

Also don’t want a driver facing camera. Some of our trucks just had them installed and many drivers I work with want out now.

My biggest problem when I went from LTL to OTR was OTR companies wanted “x” amount of time within the last few years as over the road. I asked one why this was, even with all the drive experience I had. And you would think with LTL it would count as something, bumping multiple docks a day in a city environment. Their response, which I do admit makes sense, was they want to know you’re comfortable living in a truck. But with so many companies crying for drivers now there might be a bit more wiggle room there. Climate which @Chinatown suggested has a really good thread going on this forum, and they’re a smaller company they might be more lenient. Best of luck!

Living in a truck, trip planning, being able to avoid storms on long trips, being able to roll as soon as your ten is up, ect. Driving is just part of the gig in an otr job.
