I'm a reefer driver for prime inc now for a year. Im from New York City and want to go into tanking since that's the main focus up around me. Im looking into superior carriers. I was wondering if they train new guys into tankers but with previous trucking experience?

All tanker companies will train you. You have a year driving experience, so there's a dozen companies that will hire you. They all have tanker training for drivers with no experience in tanks.

Fwiw, I switched from reefer to tankers and i love it. It's more money and more home time. This guy documents his start at Superior Carriers. It's a good read.
My Superior Journey Begins -
Hometime; too many variables. The company I worked for we had a choice of OTR or local and I chose OTR because I can't deal with fighting traffic 14 hours a day. I just like running the roads.
Superior-Carriers is one of the best out there.
Indian River Transport is good if you like running coast to coast. They do have some local/regional in some areas and you'd have to call and ask about that.
Wadhams Enterprises has some tanker work.
Schneider Bulk - has good tanker school in PA.
Carry Transit - I think Superior-Carriers owns this company. Friend of mine worked there and said it's a good outfit.
Savage Companies - various types of tanker work. Probably fuel in your area.
