No wonder I haven't seen a Fruehauf trailer in such a long time.

It’s great to see Ruth Ann Fruehauf in the background of that photo of them at new facility. Being August’s grand daughter and Roy’s daughter She’s the last of the original family. She’s done good working to bring it back home.

"“We will continue investing and developing our brand in the region and are delighted to have partnered with the Bowling Green community for this endeavor.”

Could have "continued your investment" by not leaving the states in the first place...

Why would they build a factory here when it’s 10x cheaper labor in Mexico and no import tariffs thanks to nafta ?

maybe afraid of the narco gangs taking over Mexico during the coming economic recession / depression ?

Had to in the bankruptcy buyout agreement with Wabash in 1997. The 25 years is up per agreement. They can now come back and compete. Fruehauf had divisions run by other branches of family in Mexico and other countries since the 50’s that did not get sold to Wabash. Read her book and other company history. It’s all there.

Fruehauf opened that branch in Mexico way back in the late 50’s when Kenworth opened KenMex and White had a Plant down there around that time too. That is why Mexico is using trucks and trailers with US standards.

Has anyone north of south Tejas even seen an old KenMex W-900? They were odd. Up through the 90’s they were model B cabs and tanks with A model hoods with model B grills, model A bumpers and model A 36” sleepers. Short wheelbase mostly. Tanks on 95% of them were always under door step mounted 496EC0E4-00CB-45B8-A2EA-A661E2DC931E.jpeg
