Fruits are full of sugar an vegetables are full of toxins. Since going nothing but beef, eggs, butter, and bacon a couple weeks ago I have been sleeping like a baby.

A diet of a mostly-plants and whole foods seems to have a lot of benefits. I’ve been listening to / re-reading How Not To Die by Michael Greger, MD. It goes through a lot of research into diet, and how some foods directly contribute to diseases like heart disease or cancer. The book also discusses research that found that a diet of mostly plants and whole foods can prevent or even reverse these diseases. Author’s own grandmother had end-stage heart disease in her sixties and was told she’d be dead in months; but after enrolling in a clinic that did lifestyle medicine, namely plant-based/whole-food diets, she recovered from the heart disease and lived into her nineties. A lot of stories like that in the book. The author doesn’t say that you have to quit steaks or burgers, but rather that these foods should not compromise the entire diet. Once or twice a month versus multiple times a week.
Another good one is Metabolical by Robert Lustig, MD. That one goes more into the weeds about diet, nutrition, and the body, and how our diet directly contributes to disease. Basic tenants is that it’s not the food but rather what’s been done to the food that matters. Something as simple as the pesticides sprayed onto your leafy salad vegetables can make the salad a processed food and unhealthy for ya. His rules are protect the liver (no refined carbohydrates, alcohol, etc. - foods that breakdown into sugar and cause fatty liver disease) and feed the gut (the microbiome in the gut wants to eat plants, fruits, etc., and when it doesn’t, it can eat on your intestinal lining and cause inflammation and other disease).

It's been documented for years that the keto and carnivore diets are very beneficial. I do it as much as I can.
