A fuel tanker could crash into a bull rack and we could have steaks the hard way.

It'd be difficult finding a steak cooked medium-well. I wonder if we could taste the difference between 87 and 92 octane. :happy8:

I would imagine that either fuel in my neck of the woods would have a hint of corn(since they put ethanol in it). While fuels from the Gulf might have a flavor of light, sweet crude!rotflmmfao

I think that there is more ethanol put in gasoline than we are told.

Depending on which region of the country you’re in. In the Northeast they put up to 10%(7 to 8% is typical). Can’t put anything higher than that otherwise you’ll damage fuel systems and engines!! Down south some fueling stations I’ve seen 3 to 5% or no ethanol at all.

Sounds like a label I read on a juice bottle: 100% juice with other ingredients.

Bud A. and mjd4277 Thank this.

We need to figure out a way to put ethanol into diesel, too, so all the corn farmers can keep .... um .... feeding the world. And stuff.

Seriously, when I was a kid growing up in the midwest, you never saw million-bushel piles of corn sitting outside waiting to be fed into the ethanol plant. There were no ethanol plants. Now they're everywhere. Some of that land should be allowed to go fallow for a couple of seasons to restore soil health, and all of the chemical farming that goes on should be greatly reduced. Heck, they even spray crops with dessicants now so they don't have to wait for the plants to dry up for harvest.

The whole "better living through chemistry" and "rotate corn and soybeans for cash" crap that started in the 60s has turned into a disaster. Where are all the birds? They don't have any insects to eat. Where are all the insects? They're dead and Farmer Bob is getting 15 bushels an acre more! He's getting paid less by Cargill and Monsanto than he was 30 years ago, but he's getting 15 bushels an acre more!
