Fuel pressure or restriction gauge?

    If I only have room for one gauge, either fuel pressure or restriction. Which is better to have? This is on a 6NZ C-15. Thoughts?

    Whats the restriction gauge for, the air filter? If so go with the fuel pressure gauge. The air filter gauges aren't worth crap.

    No, I already have air restriction gauge. I'm talking about fuel pressure or fuel restriction.

    Fuel pressure would be nice but I've never seen any of them last very long. (i.e. factory Pete) All of ours have fuel restriction gauges and seem to work well. Not really needed since I always change all filters at every oil change whether it's needed or not, but it will show if they get dirty.

    I was looking at the Teltek gauges, both the pressure and restriction gauges are about the same price. Wouldn't you be able to notice restriction in using the pressure gauge as well? (maybe not as obvious) I change mine every service as well, but it would be nice to know if and when they need it. My thinking was with a pressure gauge I might see other problems as well instead of just restriction.

    I would go with the restriction gauge. I watch it all the time and it's saved me from dieing on the road when i saw it go up a few times. The fuel pressure guage at least in my truck bounces around like crazy and i can never get an accurate reading rom it.

    Was running empty, so didnt need much power. Cold day and fuel was gelling up. Didnt feel it (yet) because wasnt using power, but restriction gauge showed it first. Pulled into next plaza and changed filter, problem solved. I have both gauges, but i would give up pressure gauge first...:biggrin_25517:

    Good point, I'm leaning towards the restriction gauge. I guess both would be best, but maybe later when I find a place to put more gauges. I'm about out of dash space. I need to build a pod for gauges to sit on top of the dash huh? ;)
