I've had a 465T for a couple years now. It's been getting PO'd at me because I haven't updated the maps or the traffic receiver thing. I don't shop online. I don't put my credit card info out on the internet. In other words, it won't be updated. For what the stupid thing cost to buy in the first place, I shouldn't have to spend more money every year for new updates that aren't significantly different from the old files.

That and I RARELY use the truck mode. I get tired of it telling me I can't be on a road that I know I can be on....and it telling me to turn onto 10-15 ton weight limit roads to get off the "restricted" road that isn't really restricted.

Also, It SHOULD show (and use for ETA calculations) the truck speed limit when in truck mode on roads and in states with split speed limits.

If I think about it more, I could probably come up with more things I don't like about it....

....but just so that I'm not ALL negative, I DO like the bluetooth feature to connect to the cell phone....big dialing pad to dial up a phone number, or look up a motel and with one touch, it dials my phone. Although, unless the truck is parked and shut off, the speaker is not loud enough or clear enough to hear so it's pretty much useless as a "hands free" device.

It would be pretty slick if a phone could be connected to multiple bluetooth devices simultaneously.....dial through the GPS and talk through another headset. Hell, that might even be possible (took me a year to figure out how to connect the GPS to my phone, so what do I know?)...:biggrin_25526:

This is probably a no no but how about a feature to map you around open scales when you need it on occasion LOL or how about just a feature to let you know open or closed for the scale you are approaching.

...and how exactly is it supposed to know when a scale is open or closed? It always amuses me when I hear people asking about the scales....are you going to alter your route if they are open? If not, why ask? If so, why not just alter your route instead of announcing your intention to do so to any cop with a CB?

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the feedback. Some of your recommendations are spot on with what we feel are important. Keep them coming! Obviously, we won't be able to add all features that would be desired, but we're definitely committed to improving our units and giving truckers what they want.

Pedigreed Bulldog, I definitely agree that the routing is vital and can be annoying and costly if wrong. We have very competitive routing with our competitors, but I think the GPS whole market needs to improve. Thanks for the feedback. I'll work on it.

Hey Jon, on a serious note I have a buddy with one of your new Garmins in his truck and we both just took a load to the same spot. I usually only use a map and smart phone but was pretty impressed with his unit (didnt get the model number). We did some US highways along with interstates and this GPS was pretty right on with the routing. He also showed me the logging features, ifta reporting and how you can input an oversize load into it. I am now interested in your product as he says its the best one hes had yet and would like to know what are the most up to date models available and where can I find them?

One feature I would REALLY like to see, is the ability to build a route in software on my computer and send it to my GPS. I loved that feature with my old Garmin when hauling permitted loads.

I'd like to know where to find DEF at the pump. Buying it in the box is a ripoff.
