Mine does that too. It wants to run me off in some neighborhood to come back to the ramp that I'm sitting right next to.
I never turned that on, I knew what would happen. The traffic system isn't a part of the unit really. It's a radio system set up by the cities that it picks up on. Pretty sure someone locally enters the delay times manually. Sometimes they forget to unset them and you'll roll through a city at night and it's still showing the delay from rush hour traffic. Garmin has no control over that though.

I'd like to see something more powerful and empowering for editing the route, before navigating and on the fly. Preview the route as a whole, overlaying practical, shortest and no-toll options, for instance, on the same map. User selects the preferred route option, then is able to gesture zoom to any specific portion of the route and tap-drag whatever parts of the route he/she wishes onto alternate roads. Something like what Google let you do with their hand grabber in Maps. This way the driver gets exactly the route they want if the gps's initial solution doesn't suit their needs.
Also the ability to enter desired stopping times en route and have the gps suggest stopping points. For instance, I know I have 2 hours left on my clock. I want to be able to tell the gps how long I still want to drive and have it generate choices from categories I preselected (truck stops, rest areas, walmarts) that puts me about where I want to shut down. -
You'd need an option to make it stick to that route and not recalculate a whole new route and lose the one you set too. Or recalculate back to that leg of the route instead of the destination, unless you tell it to go to the next leg.

How about listing "favorites" in alphabetical order?

I was thinking something like a dial in , even if it is just to enter co ordinates.
The technology is actually quite simple. -
now witht he pleasantries out of the way...you don't expect us to believe for one second that a truck unit costs that much more to develop and produce, do you? Especially with Gramin getting to the truck GPS game so late, all the R&D and groundwork has already been done for you, not to mention the resources of your great company.
QUIT BENDING TRUCK DRIVERS OVER! You are not reinventing GPS systems for trucks, you are simply adding features
I have a Garmin 265 Nuvi, which was in excess of $350 a few years back, when new. Now I can get a unit with 2x the screen and 5x the features/accuracy for under $100.
I have a 7" NanoVision truck based GPS now. It has bluetooth, and will read over my FM radio, an SD card for pictures/movies if I want, as well as a A/V input for a backup camera. It errs on the side of caution more than I'd like (routes me around anything less than 14' even though it knows I'm 13'6") but I only use it for guidelines anyway, my true routing comes from my Qualcomm, and my 'take-for-granted sense' (it used to be called common sense, but it's no longer that common, you just take for granted someone isn't a drooling idiot now, and go abtrue out your day)
My NanoVision does great for what I use it for, has TRUE truck routing etc, and was less then $110 WHOLESALE (distributed thru PanaPacific) I only paid $125 at a Pete dealer for it. If a small company like them can do it, I KNOW you can.
The only way you can justify a unit costing 4-5x it is if it pumps your fuel and drives for you as well. While, I agree that in the big picture, $400-500 isn't that much, it sure seems like it when there are similar products for less than 1/4 the cost available.
Now on a positive note: make a 7" with bluetooth, traffic/accident avoidance features, and lifetime updates available for under $300, and you will run Rand/Cobra out of business (until Magellan decides to get in the game)Last edited: Jan 10, 2012

Pretty easy to determine.
Since for trucks it cost more. Just like everything at the truckstop compared to other places.Mommas_money_maker Thanks this. -

I would also like to be able to have the option of setting my own speeds. I drive for one of the slow pokes.
A trip planner would be sweet too.
BTW.. love the 465lmt.
